What we take from it The reference machine of the category, sold here as a supply bundle at $749 — the box plus three OdorTrap refills, ten drawer liners, thirty wipes, two carbon filters and a mat. It is the only box on this page rated for four cats, it states its minimum detected weight, and it is the one that says it wants a firm floor. The same bundle is listed a second time, under the same manufacturer reference, fifty dollars higher.
What you are getting
The Litter-Robot 4 with a year’s worth of consumables: three OdorTrap refills, ten waste-drawer liners, thirty cleaner wipes, two carbon filters and a LitterTrap mat. $749.
Four cats, and a published minimum weight
“Suitable for up to 4 cats; each cat must weigh at least 3 lbs (1.4 kg (3.1 lb)) to safely use Litter-Robot in Automatic Mode.”
That is the sentence this shelf asks you to look for. It is the only box on this page rated for four cats, and one of three that publishes the floor below which the machine cannot feel the animal. Mimfam and teweoa publish nothing.
It sifts rather than rakes
“The patented sifting process automatically separates your cat’s waste from the clean litter.” The globe rotates and the litter falls through a screen; the clumps do not. There is no rake to jam and no comb to clean, which is the mechanical argument for the design and the reason the drawer, not the bed, is what you touch.
It takes any clumping litter — which rules out crystal, as the ScoopFree Ultra on this shelf rules out clumping.
The app reports levels, not just events
“Monitor waste and litter levels in real time, see litter box activity, and track kitty’s weight after each use.”
Litter level is the useful half. Every connected box here reports visits; this one reports how much clean litter is left, which is the thing you would otherwise discover by opening the lid.
It asks for a firm floor
“Weight scale technology is most accurate when the unit sits on a firm surface, not carpeting or uneven surfaces.”
Worth reading before buying, because the Litter-Robot EVO further down this page — same brand, same weight-scale principle — says the opposite: “can be used on any surface, even carpet”. If the box is going on carpet, the EVO is the one Whisker endorses for it.
The same bundle, listed twice
Manufacturer reference LR4-COREBD-BK, 10,886 g (384 oz), 610 × 610 × 787 mm (24 × 24 × 31 in). A second amazon.com listing carries the same reference and the same contents list word for word, at $799. This page is written on the $749 one. Check the reference and the contents before buying either.
What is not published
No cycle time, no noise level, no waste-drawer capacity in liters, and no figure for how long the drawer lasts. The bundle counts the consumables but not the days.

App
Waste and litter levels in real time, activity, weight
Whisker says to avoid it: "weight scale technology is most accurate when the unit sits on a firm surface, not carpeting". The box still cycles on carpet, but the weight readings — which are how it identifies which cat has visited — become unreliable. The Litter-Robot EVO on this page, from the same brand, explicitly reverses that: "can be used on any surface, even carpet". For a carpeted room, that is the model the manufacturer endorses.
What does the supply bundle actually cover?
Three OdorTrap refills, ten waste-drawer liners, thirty cleaner wipes, two carbon filters and a LitterTrap mat. What Whisker does not publish is how long each lasts, so the bundle cannot be converted into months. The neighboring cassettes and filters shelves on this site exist because these are the parts that keep being bought, and the carbon filters on them are changed every two to three weeks.
Why are there two listings at different prices?
Both carry the manufacturer reference LR4-COREBD-BK, the same weight and dimensions, and the same contents list word for word. One is titled "Supply & Accessory Bundle" at $799, the other "Supply Bundle" at $749. Nothing published distinguishes them. Compare the reference and the contents list rather than the title.

What buyers actually choose
Amazon reports what buyers took in the month before this page was last checked: at least 500.
