Only where the consumables are cheap and available — a used fountain or clipper is usually fine, a used litter box is a hygiene question, and a used tracker may be locked to another account.
It depends entirely on which family.
Usually fine
Clippers, dryers, brushes and scales. Clean them, fit a new blade or filter and they are as good as new.
Think carefully
Fountains and feeders. Both hold water or food, both develop films in places you cannot see, and both are cheap enough new that the saving is small.
Rarely worth it
Litter boxes. Sealing surfaces, drawer seals and the interior are exactly where a used machine has aged, and replacement seals may not be listed.
Check before buying
That the account can be released (trackers and connected machines), that the consumables are still manufactured, and that the model is not one whose spares have been discontinued.
This does not replace your device’s manual. Blade temperatures, locking mechanisms and cleaning procedures differ from model to model, and the manufacturer’s instructions take precedence over anything written here. Unplug a device before dismantling it, check a hot blade or an air nozzle against your own hand before it goes anywhere near an animal, and keep a mechanism that closes or rotates under supervision until you know how it behaves.
