Can I repair these devices myself?

The wear parts, yes — pumps, filters, blades, drums, seals and bowls are designed to be changed. Anything behind a sealed electronics housing is not, and opening it usually ends the warranty.

There is a clean line between maintenance and repair in this category.

What you replace routinely

Fountain pumps and impellers, filters, clipper blades and guide combs, grinding drums, drawer seals, tracker mounts, feeder bowls. All are sold separately and none require tools beyond a screwdriver.

What you clean rather than replace

Impeller housings, sensor windows, hoppers, drums. Most “failures” are these.

What you do not open

Sealed electronics, battery packs and anything mains-powered beyond the plug. That is a warranty conversation, and on mains equipment a safety one.

Before contacting support

Note the error code the app shows, and what you have already cleaned or replaced. It shortens every conversation.

This does not replace your device’s manual. Blade temperatures, locking mechanisms and cleaning procedures differ from model to model, and the manufacturer’s instructions take precedence over anything written here. Unplug a device before dismantling it, check a hot blade or an air nozzle against your own hand before it goes anywhere near an animal, and keep a mechanism that closes or rotates under supervision until you know how it behaves.
