Furbo 360° Dog Camera review
The camera the category is named after: full HD with a rotating 360° view, color night vision and a treat launcher. This is the basic-camera listing, without a bundled subscription.
What we take from it The best camera here, and the one with the most to pay for afterwards. Buy this listing rather than the bundled ones if you want to decide about the plan later.
What it is
Furbo’s 360° dog camera: full HD video with a rotating view, color night
vision and a treat dispenser that tosses on command. This particular listing
is the basic camera, sold without a plan attached at setup.
Rotation is the feature
A fixed camera watches the corner you pointed it at, and dogs move. A rotating
head means you can follow the animal across a room instead of guessing which
part of the sofa it is on — and it is the reason this costs more than the
static cameras below.
The subscription question, with the numbers
Furbo sells this camera twice on amazon.com, and the two listings carry
different prices and different obligations:
listing
price
subscription
This one — “Core Features, No Ongoing Cost”
≈ $185
optional
B0BWN22T25 — “Paid Plan Required to Activate”
$72
mandatory to activate
The locked listing publishes its terms: a yearly plan at $6.99 a month
with the activation fee waived, or a monthly plan with a $29.97 activation
fee that includes the first three months, then $9.99 a month. Its own
bullets add two things that matter: “no features are available before
activation”, and “if you cancel, core features remain”.
Read together, those terms mean the cheaper listing plus the monthly
activation — $72 + $29.97, three months included — comes to $101.97 for a
camera that keeps live view, two-way audio and treat tossing after
cancellation. That is less than this listing’s $185, and it is why the price
gap exists. Confirm the cancellation timing with Furbo before counting on it;
the figures above are the listing’s, the arithmetic is ours.
What this listing buys instead is simplicity: nothing to activate, nothing to
cancel, and no account that can lapse.
Treats
Round, dry, and within the size the manufacturer states. It is a mechanical
launcher, and the failure mode is a jam rather than a misfire. Match the treat
to the machine before blaming the machine.

The questions owners ask
What works without a subscription?
The live view and the treat tossing, on this basic-camera listing. Recording, event history and the smarter alerts are plan features. Two other Furbo listings in the same catalog require a subscription at activation, which is why we chose this one — check the listing you are buying rather than the model name.
Which treats does the launcher take?
Round, dry ones of a fairly narrow size range. Soft or irregular treats jam the wheel, which is the single most common complaint about every treat camera. Buy a bag that matches the manufacturer’s stated size before deciding the machine is faulty.
Does it help with separation anxiety?
It shows you what happens and lets you speak. Whether talking to a distressed dog through a speaker helps or makes it worse depends on the dog, and a genuinely anxious animal is a behavioral problem rather than a hardware one — that is a conversation with a vet or a qualified behaviourist.
