Furbo Mini 360° review

The smaller Furbo: the same rotating view and treat dispenser in a compact body, with barking and meowing alerts. It is the cat-capable one.

What we take from it The Furbo to buy for a cat or a small room. Same idea, less of it, at half the price.

What it is

The compact Furbo: a rotating 360° pet camera with a treat dispenser and alerts for barking and meowing.

The cat case

Almost every pet camera is sold as a dog product. Meowing alerts are a small thing that signals otherwise, and in a multi-cat house the ability to hear which room the complaining is coming from is more useful than another lens.

What it shares with the big one

The rotating head, the treat launcher, and Furbo’s subscription model. What it does not share is capacity: a smaller body means a smaller treat hopper and more frequent refills.

The same camera is also sold locked, at half the price

Furbo lists the Mini twice on amazon.com. This one is “Core Features, No Ongoing Cost” at ≈ $99. The other, B0F8LGB7VR, is “Paid Plan Required to Activate” at $49 — and publishes its terms: a yearly plan at $6.99 a month, or a monthly plan with a $29.97 activation fee covering the first three months, then $9.99 a month. “No features are available before activation”, and “if you cancel, core features remain”.

On the Mini the arithmetic is tighter than on the big Furbo 360, because the saving is smaller: $49 + $29.97 is $78.97 against $99 here, so the locked route saves about twenty dollars rather than eighty. Take the yearly plan instead and it costs more than this listing outright. At this price the simpler purchase is the one with nothing to activate.

What the listing does not say

Resolution, field of view, hopper size, treat dimensions. Furbo’s listing for this model is unusually thin, and we would rather note that than invent numbers to fill the table.

What we rate, and what we flag up

Strengths

  • Meowing alerts as well as barking — the only camera here that treats cats as a use case
  • Small enough to sit on a shelf without dominating the room
  • Half the price of the full-size 360 with the same rotating head
  • One reference on all six markets

Compromises

  • Subscription features are the same story as the rest of the range
  • A smaller treat hopper means refilling more often
  • The listing publishes very little detail beyond the feature names

The questions owners ask

Is it worth having a camera for a cat?

For most cats, honestly, less than for a dog: cats left alone tend to sleep. Where it earns its place is a cat that is new to a home, one recovering from something, or a household trying to work out which cat is doing what — and the meowing alerts are the feature that fits that.

What is the difference from the full-size 360?

Size, treat capacity and price, with the same rotating view. If the room is small and the animal is a cat, this is the sensible one; for a large room and a dog, the bigger camera holds more treats and sees further.

Do the barking alerts work?

Furbo publishes the feature and no measured accuracy figure, which is the norm across this whole category. Treat it as a prompt to look at the live view rather than as a reliable log — and if barking is the problem you are investigating, a count over time matters more than an individual alert.
