Coats that mat, and the blade that stops it · review
oneisall Pro Upgrade review
The quietest clipper in this group at under 49 dB, fully washable under the tap, with three and a half hours of runtime from a 2,000 mAh cell. It costs about the price of two bags of litter.
What we take from it The one to start with. Quiet enough for a cat, washable, and cheap enough that finding out your animal hates clippers costs almost nothing.
What it is
A cordless two-speed pet clipper: 6,000 to 6,800 rpm, a 2,000 mAh cell good
for three and a half hours, an IPX7 body and a detachable blade. oneisall
quotes under 49 dB.
Noise is the specification here
Everything else in this group is louder, including every grooming vacuum. For a
cat, a small dog, or any animal that has already been frightened by a clipper
once, that figure is not a nice-to-have — it is the entire reason to choose
one machine over another. The quiet motor is what oneisall sells, and it is
the right thing to sell.
Washable, properly
IPX7 covers the whole housing rather than just the head. Hair and skin oil are
what stop a clipper cutting, and a tool you can rinse completely is a tool
that stays sharp for its whole life rather than for a season.
What it will not do
Full clips on a thick double coat. It is a two-speed hobby machine, and it
will slow where a salon clipper keeps its speed. If you are clipping a large
dog to the skin twice a year, look at the Wahl or the Heiniger further down
this page and pay four to ten times as much for the privilege.

The questions owners ask
Is under 49 dB really quieter than the rest?
By the published figures, yes: 49 dB here, 55 dB on the metal-comb oneisall, 60 to 75 dB on the grooming vacuums. Manufacturer measurements are not comparable methods, but a spread that wide is a real difference, and on a cat it is the difference between a session and a fight.
What does IPX7 mean in practice?
The whole body can be rinsed under running water, not just the blade. On a tool that fills with hair and skin oil, that is the difference between a clipper that keeps cutting and one that gets sticky and gets thrown away. Dry it fully before charging.
Will it handle a matted coat?
No, and neither will anything else at this price. A mat sits against the skin and has to be cut out by someone who can see what is underneath — that is a job for a groomer or a vet, not for a home clipper of any make.

This one and its buyer, among pet devices
A nervous animal, a cat, or a first clipper — the noise figure is the specification that matters most here and this is the best of it.
Amazon reports what buyers took in the month before this page was last checked: at least 200.
The figure is a floor, rounded by Amazon, and read through Keepa — it says what buyers picked, not what a maker claims.

0.5 mm (0.02 in) veterinary cut · 115 g (4.1 oz) · spare blade head included
A 115-gram detail trimmer with a 0.5 mm (0.02 in) veterinary blade, for faces, paws and bellies rather than full clips. It comes with a second blade head.
Best for: Paw pads, faces and sanitary trims — the work a full-size clipper is too big and too loud to do.
Cordless · 120 min runtime · #10-1 blade head included
A cordless professional clipper with a lithium-ion pack rated for two hours and a #10 blade head in the box. Heiniger sells it on being quiet, which is unusual at this level.
Best for: Grooming several animals away from a socket — or one animal that will not tolerate a corded salon clipper.
55 dB · 6,800 rpm · 4 h runtime · four metal combs 3–25 mm (0.12 to 0.98 in)
The same class of clipper as the Pro Upgrade with metal guide combs instead of plastic ones, four hours of runtime, and stainless blades. The combs are the reason it costs more.
Best for: A thick or long coat where plastic combs have already slipped, and a household that clips regularly enough to notice the finish.
