Mineral and bentonite litter only. PetPivot excludes plant-based litters and crystal litters explicitly. If you are on tofu, wood or paper — and a great many people are, for weight and dust reasons — this box is not for you, and no amount of the rest of the specification changes that.
Three Hall sensors track the position of the mechanism itself, and four pairs of infrared sensors watch the entrance and interrupt the cycle when a cat is detected. The pairing matters: knowing where the mechanism is and knowing where the cat is are two different problems, and boxes that only solve the second can still stop in the wrong place.
The stated range starts at 1.5 kg, which is the lowest here. For a small adult cat — a slight female, an elderly cat that has lost weight — that margin is the difference between a box that senses reliably and one that occasionally does not.

No. PetPivot states mineral and bentonite litter only, and specifically excludes plant-based and crystal types. That is a narrower list than most boxes here accept, and it is the first thing to check against the bag you currently buy — a machine that jams on the litter it was never designed for is not a faulty machine.
It is the lowest figure any manufacturer publishes on this page — the Redkey X1 and Merax quote under 35 dB, the Neakasa 50 dB. All of these are manufacturer figures measured their own way, so treat the ranking as indicative rather than exact. What is fair to say is that this box is specified for a bedroom.
It is the lowest on this page, but a growing kitten still passes through weights below it, and PETKIT excludes cats under six months from its boxes entirely. Until a young cat is comfortably above the stated threshold, the safe arrangement is a manual tray alongside — whatever the sensor specification says.
