What you are getting

A food splitter and two stainless steel bowls, 450 g (15.9 oz), 178 × 51 × 305 mm (7.01 × 2.01 × 12 in), for four named PETLIBRO feeders: PLAF005, PLAF006, PLAF103 and PLAF203. $25.99.

It is the part that turns a one-bowl feeder into a two-bowl feeder: the chute divides, and each half lands in its own dish.

Read the title, not the bullets

All five bullets on this listing describe the complete feeder, not this part. They promise:

  • “compatible with 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz WiFi”
  • “5 L large capacity”
  • “built-in desiccant and sealing strip”
  • “monitored by infrared sensing and stops in case of clogging”
  • “can record 10 seconds of voice per meal”

A plastic splitter and two steel bowls have no Wi-Fi, no hopper, no desiccant, no infrared sensor and no speaker. The bullet text has been copied from the PLAF103 feeder’s own page, which is why it reads as a $100 machine priced at $25.99.

What this part is, is in the title and in the shipping figures. Everything the bullets claim belongs to the feeder you already own.

Which feeders it fits, and which of them this site publishes

Four references are named. One of them, the PLAF203, is the feeder-with-a-camera reviewed on the cameras page of this site. The other three are not published here, so check your own machine’s reference on its base plate before ordering — PETLIBRO’s model numbers differ by a single digit and the chute geometry is what has to match.

Stainless steel is the right choice for the bowls

Two reasons, both about what food leaves behind. Steel does not scratch the way molded plastic does, and a scratched bowl holds the grease and biofilm that make a feeder smell. And steel lifts out: the bowls are “removable for easy cleaning”, where a plastic well with electronics beneath it is a bowl you wipe rather than wash.

That is the same distinction the smart bowls shelf on this site makes in its buying advice — a lift-out steel insert is a bowl you will keep clean.

What a splitter does and does not solve

It solves competition at one bowl: two cats eat side by side instead of pushing. “Dry food is evenly distributed to two bowls to avoid competition for food grabbing.”

It does not solve diet. An even split is even regardless of which animal arrives first, and a cat on a prescription or medicated ration still gets whatever it reaches. The machine that solves that is on the smart bowls shelf: an RFID feeder whose lid opens only for the cat wearing its tag.

What is not published

No material thickness, no bowl capacity, no splitter angle, and no statement of whether the original single bowl can be refitted. The five bullets that should have carried those figures carry the feeder’s instead.

The questions owners ask

Does it really have Wi-Fi and a desiccant?

No. Those claims, along with the 5 L hopper, the infrared anti-clog sensing and the ten-second voice recording, are the feeder’s features: all five bullets on this listing have been copied from the PLAF103 feeder’s own page. What is actually in the box is a splitter and two steel bowls, 450 g (15.9 oz) in total. Judge it by the title and the shipping figures.

Will it fit my PETLIBRO feeder?

If your machine is a PLAF005, PLAF006, PLAF103 or PLAF203, which are the four references the title names. PETLIBRO model numbers differ by a digit and the chute geometry has to match, so read the label on the base of your feeder rather than going by the shape. Of those four, only the PLAF203 — the feeder with a camera — is published on this site.

Will it stop one cat eating the other’s food?

Only the pushing, not the eating. The split is even by mechanism: each bowl gets the same amount regardless of who arrives first, so a greedy cat still clears both if it is quick. If one animal is on a prescription or medicated ration, a splitter is the wrong tool — the smart bowls shelf on this site has an RFID feeder whose lid unlocks only for the cat wearing its collar tag.
