What you are getting
Eight filters and eight pre-filter sponges for PETLIBRO Dockstream fountains, sold as a four-month set. $18.39 — $2.30 a filter, the second most expensive on this shelf.
It names six models, and warns you off everything else
Compatible with PLWF106, PLWF116, PLWF105, PLWF115, PLWF005 and PLWF305. Six model numbers, which is the most precise fitment list on this shelf.
And the first bullet is a warning: “Off-brand cat fountain filters may cause leaks/pump failure in PETLIBRO automatic water dispensers.”
That is a claim with nothing behind it on the page — no dimension, no tolerance, no test. What it does do is tell you the filter is shaped for one range, which the six model numbers already established.
Four layers, where the shelf’s generic has three
- Activated carbon for odor. 2. Ion exchange resin for heavy metal ions and hardness. 3. Non-woven fabric for hair. 4. A built-in pump sponge as a further stage.
The vertical arrangement is named too. It is the most detailed construction description on this shelf — and the only one that counts the pump sponge as part of the filtration rather than as packaging.
Two weeks, and the sums
The maker recommends replacing every 2 weeks, which makes eight filters four months — exactly as the title says. At $2.30 a filter that is $4.60 a month, against $2.12 a month for the VANVE generic on the same interval.
What is not published
No filter dimensions, no carbon weight, and no evidence for the leak and pump-failure warning.

The questions owners ask
Are off-brand filters really a risk?
The listing says they "may cause leaks/pump failure" and offers nothing to check that against — no dimension, no tolerance, no test. What is true is that this filter is cut for a specific range, and the six model numbers say which. On this shelf the generic filters publish their size, 3.9 × 3.9 × 0.4 inch; PETLIBRO publishes none, so the two cannot even be compared on paper.
Why two weeks rather than four?
The maker sets two, and sizes the box to match: eight filters, four months. The shelf guidance is that carbon is spent after two to four weeks whatever the packaging claims, so two weeks is the cautious end rather than a different technology. At $2.30 a filter it also doubles the running cost against a four-week interval.
What is the pump sponge doing in the filtration list?
PETLIBRO counts it as the fourth stage: "the built-in pump sponge further filters debris to prevent blockages and damage". That is the same part other makers sell as a pre-filter and this site treats as washable. Calling it a filtration stage is fair mechanically — it does catch debris — but it is still the piece you can rinse rather than replace.
