Coconut shell carbon, and half the price of its own small box
Veken FIF3V126 F1 Series, 16 pack
A sixteen-filter set with coconut shell carbon and a scale inhibitor for Veken F1 Series fountains, with four cleaning brushes.
What you are getting
Sixteen filters, sixteen pre-filter sponges and four cleaning brushes for Veken F1 Series fountains. $25.99 — $1.62 a filter.
Coconut shell carbon, named
Most listings on this shelf say “activated carbon” and stop. Veken says coconut shell activated carbon, and argues the pore structure absorbs faster and lasts longer than standard carbon.
Coconut shell carbon does have a finer micropore structure than coal-based carbon — that part is chemistry, not marketing. What the page does not give is a carbon weight or a capacity, so “lasts longer” remains a direction rather than a figure.
It also names a composite scale inhibitor, which no other filter on this shelf mentions. In hard water that is the layer that keeps the pump from furring.
Four clipper models, and a lock-in sentence
Fits the C1, C1 Classic, D1 and D1 Pro fountains. And: “making Veken the only correct choice for your filtration needs”.
That is the second brand-lock claim on this shelf, after PETLIBRO’s. Neither publishes a dimension that would let an equivalent be identified, which is what makes the claim unanswerable rather than true.
Four brushes in one box
The largest brush count on this shelf. The pump channel is where a fountain actually slows, and four brushes across sixteen filter changes is one every fourth change.
The sums against its own small pack
Veken sells the same filter as a 4-pack at $11.99 — $3.00 a filter. This 16-pack is $1.62. Buying the small box four times costs $47.96 against $25.99, for the same sixteen filters and no brushes.
What is not published
No carbon weight, no dimensions, no flow rate. The replacement interval is stated at two weeks.

The questions owners ask
Is coconut shell carbon better?
It has a finer micropore structure than coal-based carbon, which is why it is used where taste and odor matter. That part is chemistry. What the listing does not publish is how much carbon is in the pad or how many liters it treats, so "absorbs impurities rapidly, lasts longer" has no figure behind it. The replacement interval Veken sets is two weeks, the same as PETLIBRO and shorter than the generic sets here.
Why is the four-pack three dollars a filter?
Because it is a small box, and small boxes carry the packaging cost across fewer pieces. Veken sells both on this shelf: 4 filters at $11.99 and 16 at $25.99. Buying the small one four times costs $47.96 for the same sixteen filters, and gets you none of the four brushes. If the fountain is staying, the large box is the only sensible version.
What does a scale inhibitor do?
It slows the limescale that builds on the pump and in the channel where hard water runs. No other filter on this shelf mentions one. In a soft-water area it adds little; in a hard-water area it addresses the thing that actually kills fountain pumps, which is mineral deposit rather than hair.
