What you are getting

The wireless replacement pump for the PETLIBRO PLWF005, PLWF115 and PLWF105 fountains. $13.98, with a water-shortage cut-out.

Wireless, and what that actually changes

“No wires immersed in water, and no hard to reach places.” A cordless pump sits in the bowl with nothing trailing out of it, so the tank lifts off the base without threading a cable through anything.

The real gain is cleaning. A corded pump makes the bowl awkward to strip, and a bowl that is awkward to strip gets stripped less often — which is the thing that kills fountain pumps. Every other pump on this shelf is corded.

The only safety cut-out in the group

“PETLIBRO wireless cat fountain pump automatically stops when water levels dip below a safe level, preventing the pump from overheating.”

Running dry is how a fountain pump dies: the impeller cavitates, the motor has no water to carry heat away, and it cooks. Nine pumps on this shelf and this is the only one that stops itself. The Catit PIXI pump already published here has the same protection, which makes two in the whole shelf.

23 dB, stated at a low water level

“23dB Supremely Silent… runs quietly even when the water level gets low.” The condition is the useful half of that sentence: low water is when pumps get loud, and a figure given for that state means more than one taken with a full bowl.

It still sits in the middle of this shelf’s unverifiable spread — ONECUTE claims under 20 dB, three others under 40, none with a method.

Three models, named

PLWF005, PLWF115, PLWF105. PETLIBRO’s other pump on this shelf is corded and fits the PLWF002 only.

What is not published

No flow rate, no battery or charging detail for the wireless unit, and no run time.

The questions owners ask

What does the water-shortage detector prevent?

A burnt motor. A fountain pump relies on the water around it to carry heat away; run dry, the impeller cavitates and the motor cooks within hours. This pump stops itself below a safe level. Of the nine pumps on this shelf, it is the only one with the feature — the Catit PIXI pump already published here is the other in the whole range.

Is wireless better than corded?

For cleaning, yes, and cleaning is what decides how long a fountain pump lives. With no cable through the base, the tank lifts straight off and the pump comes out in one movement — so it gets stripped weekly rather than when something goes wrong. The trade is that a wireless pump has a battery, and this listing publishes neither its capacity nor its run time.

Which PETLIBRO fountains does it fit?

PLWF005, PLWF115 and PLWF105. PETLIBRO’s other pump on this shelf is corded and fits the PLWF002 alone. The number is on the fountain base, and the two pumps are not interchangeable.
