ADE MV304600 XL platform review
A large flat platform scale: 80 × 60 cm (31.5 × 23.6 in), 3.1 centimeters high, for dogs up to 100 kg (220.5 lb) and 80 cm (31.5 in) of back length. Low enough that a dog steps on rather than climbs.
What we take from it The only scale here a large dog will actually stand on willingly. Buy it for a weight program, borrow the vet’s otherwise.
What it is
A large, low platform scale: 80 × 60 cm (31.5 × 23.6 in) of wooden deck, 3.1 cm (1.2 in) high, weighing
up to 100 kg (220.5 lb), with a non-slip surface. ADE gives a working range from about
2 kg (4.4 lb).
Low and large
Both dimensions solve the same problem. A big dog will not balance on a small
pad, and no dog steps willingly onto something that wobbles or that it has to
climb. A wide deck barely off the floor turns weighing into something the
animal does not notice.
Where the accuracy sits
A 100-kg scale resolves in coarser steps than a 30-kg one, which is the trade.
For a dog on a weight program that is fine — the change you are watching is
hundreds of grams, not tens. For a kitten it is the wrong tool.
Reading the number
A weight that moves is information for a vet, particularly when it moves
without a change in feeding. The scale makes the trend visible; the
interpretation is not ours and not the scale’s.

What we rate, and what we flag up
Strengths
3.1 cm (1.2 in) high: a large dog steps on rather than being lifted, which is the whole problem solved
80 × 60 cm (31.5 × 23.6 in) takes a dog standing normally instead of hunched
Non-slip surface — a scale a dog slides on is a scale it refuses twice

Compromises
The most expensive scale here by a wide margin
A wooden 80 × 60 cm (31.5 × 23.6 in) platform needs storing somewhere
Overkill for a cat: the fine resolution of a small scale is what that job needs

The questions owners ask
Why does the height matter so much?
Because a dog that has to step up onto a box treats it as an obstacle, and a nervous one will not. At 3.1 cm (1.2 in) the platform is barely a threshold — the dog walks on, the number settles, and the whole business takes ten seconds instead of a wrestling match.
Can I weigh a cat on it?
Yes, from about 2 kg (4.4 lb) by ADE’s figure, but the resolution of a 100-kg scale is coarse compared with a small-animal one. For cats and kittens, the MINDPET-MED above is the better instrument.
Is it worth it for one dog?
If the dog is on a vet-set weight program, yes — home weighing on the same scale each week is far more informative than a monthly visit. Otherwise, most surgeries will let you use theirs, and that is free.
