i-pouch EB527 veterinary scale review
A mid-sized scale in the shape veterinary practices use: 56 × 33 cm (22 × 13 in) of ABS platform, up to 40 kg (88.2 lb) in 10-gram steps, with a large LCD.
What we take from it The all-rounder. Not the finest and not the largest, and the one most households would actually use.
What it is
A veterinary-pattern pet scale: a 56 × 33 cm (22 × 13 in) ABS platform, up to 40 kg (88.2 lb) in
10-gram steps, with a 72 × 28 mm (2.83 × 1.10 in) LCD.
The middle of the range, deliberately
Small scales are precise and take nothing bigger than a cat. Large platforms
take anything and resolve coarsely. This sits between: fine enough to follow a
cat’s weight, wide enough for a spaniel or a terrier, and small enough to live
in a cupboard.
The display
Large digits, which sounds trivial until you are reading a number at floor
level while holding a cat’s attention. It is the difference between one
successful weighing and three attempts.
What a scale is for
Trend, not diagnosis. Weigh on the same scale, at the same time of day, and
watch the line. Where it moves without a reason you can name, that is a
conversation with a vet.

Strengths
The middle ground: fine enough for a cat, big enough for a medium dog
ABS wipes clean, which matters on a surface animals stand on
10-gram steps are plenty for weekly tracking of anything over 2 kg (4.4 lb)

Compromises
40 kg (88.2 lb) stops short of large breeds
A 56 × 33 cm (22 × 13 in) platform is tight for a dog that will not stand square

The questions owners ask
Which scale for a household with a cat and a spaniel?
This one. The MINDPET-MED is finer but stops at 30 kg (66.1 lb) with a narrow tray; the ADE takes anything but is coarse and large. A 40-kg scale with a 56 cm (22 in) platform covers both animals without compromising much on either.
Is 10-gram resolution enough for a cat?
For tracking a 4-kilogram cat week to week, comfortably. For a newborn kitten, no — that needs the 2-gram class. Match the resolution to the smallest animal you intend to weigh, not the largest.
Why does the surface material matter?
Because the scale gets stood on by animals that have been outside. ABS wipes; a fabric or textured surface does not. On a device used weekly for years, cleanability is a durability feature.

Up to 100 kg (220.5 lb) · 80 × 60 cm (31.5 × 23.6 in) wooden platform · 3.1 cm (1.2 in) high · 3.4 kg (7.5 lb)
A large flat platform scale: 80 × 60 cm (31.5 × 23.6 in), 3.1 centimeters high, for dogs up to 100 kg (220.5 lb) and 80 cm (31.5 in) of back length. Low enough that a dog steps on rather than climbs.
Best for: Large dogs, breeders, and anyone tracking a weight-loss program a vet has set.
Up to 15 kg (33.1 lb) · four weighing modes · ABS · backlit LCD
The cheapest scale here: up to 15 kg (33.1 lb) with four weighing modes, an ABS body and a backlit display. It is the entry point for weighing a cat at home.
Best for: One cat, one kitchen, and a weight you want to check monthly rather than track to the gram.
Max 30 kg (66.1 lb) · 2 g (0.1 oz) accuracy · 60 cm (23.6 in) tray · hold function
A precision scale for small animals: up to 30 kg (66.1 lb) with an accuracy of about 2 grams, a 60-centimeter tray and an automatic hold for animals that will not stand still.
Best for: Kittens, puppies, cats and small dogs — where a change of fifty grams is the thing you are trying to see.
