Tractive GPS Cat Mini (2026) review

Tractive’s cat tracker: 32 grams including an integrated collar with a weight-adjustable safety catch, live tracking with no range limit, and a subscription that starts at €5 a month.

What we take from it The cat tracker to buy if you accept the subscription model — and everyone in this category runs one. Light, properly cat-specific, and sold everywhere.

What it is

A 32-gram GPS tracker for cats with an integrated collar, live location over LTE or 2G with no range limit, and health tracking that records resting heart rate, breathing rate, sleep and activity.

The subscription is the product

Tractive states it plainly: a subscription is required, from €5 a month, and it covers the SIM. That is the model for every genuine tracker on this page — what makes Tractive worth reading about is that they say so on the listing rather than three screens into a setup wizard.

Why not a Bluetooth tag

Because a Bluetooth tag has a range measured in tens of meters. It will find a collar behind the sofa. A cat that has not come home is not behind the sofa, and the entire reason this category costs what it does is the cellular connection.

Weight, and the collar

32 grams with the collar built in, with a weight-adjustable safety catch. On a cat, the catch is not optional: a collar that does not release when it snags is the hazard that outweighs everything a tracker can tell you.

The health data

Measurements, published as numbers. What a resting heart rate means for your cat is a question for a vet — this page describes what the device records, and stops there.

What we rate, and what we flag up

Strengths

  • Designed for cats specifically: 32 g (1.1 oz) with a collar that releases under load
  • No range limit — this is a real tracker, not a Bluetooth tag
  • Records resting heart and breathing rate as well as position
  • Listed on all six of our markets

Compromises

  • 32 g (1.1 oz) is still 32 g (1.1 oz) on a 3.5 kg (7.7 lb) cat — check it against your animal
  • Health figures are measurements, not interpretations

The questions owners ask

What does it really cost over three years?

The hardware plus 36 months of subscription. At Tractive’s stated €5 a month that is €180 on top of the tracker, and longer prepaid terms are cheaper per month. Any comparison against a Bluetooth tag that costs €30 once has to start there — and the tag will not find a cat two streets away.

Is 32 g (1.1 oz) too heavy for a cat?

It depends on the cat. On a 6 kg (13.2 lb) tom it is unremarkable; on a slight 3 kg (6.6 lb) female it is noticeable, and some cats will fight the collar rather than the weight. Fit it with a proper breakaway catch and watch the first few days.

What are the health readings for?

Tractive records resting heart rate, breathing rate, sleep and activity, and alerts on changes. Treat those as observations to take to a vet. A tracker cannot diagnose anything, and a graph that worries you is a reason to book an appointment rather than to read further.
