What you are getting

A 9.98 kg (22 lb) box of hard, fast-clumping clay litter made for the Litter-Robot, at $19.98 — $2.00 a kilo, the cheaper of the two litters on this shelf.

It is built around one machine’s software setting

“Specially formulated for The Perfect Cycle setting in the Whisker app”, and “powerful odor control for Litter-Robot 4 and previous generations”.

No other litter in this group names a competitor’s app, let alone a mode inside it. What that means in practice is a clump timed to be firm when the globe rotates — the Litter-Robot’s cycle is what decides how long a clump has to set before it is moved.

It is still clay clumping litter, and it will work in any rake or rotary box that takes clumping litter.

The scent releases on every cycle

“Motion-activated revitalizing scent… gives your litter a fresh, clean scent boost with every cycle.”

That is the one claim on this page worth weighing carefully. A machine cycles after each visit, so a scent tied to the cycle is released several times a day, into the box the cat has just used.

The filters shelf on this site is direct about the risk: strong fragrance is among the most common reasons a cat starts avoiding an otherwise working box. The BoxiePro litter on this shelf takes the opposite approach and says so.

Clumping, which rules out the crystal machines

Hard and fast clumping puts it in rake and rotary boxes. It is not for a ScoopFree-style machine built around crystal litter, which jams on clumping clay — this site publishes the ScoopFree Ultra as crystal-only.

What is not published

No dust rating, no grain size, no clump-time figure, and no absorbency. “Hard & fast clumping” is the whole specification, and the veterinary line that follows it — “the brand most often recommended by veterinarians (2024 Veterinarian Survey, Forward Group)” — is about the brand, not this box.

The questions owners ask

Does it only work in a Litter-Robot?

No. It is clumping clay, so it works in any rake or rotary machine that takes clumping litter. What the Litter-Robot connection buys is timing: the clump is formulated to be firm by the point the globe rotates on the Perfect Cycle setting. It will not work in a ScoopFree-style crystal machine, which jams on clumping clay.

Is a scent released every cycle a problem?

It can be. A machine cycles after each visit, so a motion-activated scent goes off several times a day in the box the cat has just left. The odor shelf on this site is blunt about the consequence: strong fragrance is among the most common reasons a cat starts refusing a box that was working. The BoxiePro litter on this shelf uses probiotics instead and says explicitly that it is not masking with fragrance.

How much does it cost to run?

At $19.98 for 9.98 kg (22 lb) it is $2.00 a kilo — against $3.58 for the BoxiePro. How long a box lasts depends on the machine and the number of cats, and neither listing publishes a usage figure, so the per-kilo price is the only comparison the pages support.
