Check the tray count — the three-pack is half the price each
PetSafe ScoopFree tray refill, PAC19-14262
A pre-filled blue crystal disposable tray for the ScoopFree Original and Ultra, with a plastic leak lining.
What you are getting
A ScoopFree disposable tray refill, pre-filled with PetSafe premium blue crystals, with a plastic tray lining as a leak barrier. Compatible with both the Original and the Ultra ScoopFree automatic boxes. $25.99.
Count the trays before you buy this one
The three-pack of exactly this consumable is already published on this shelf at ≈ $40 — $13.33 a tray.
This listing is $25.99, and its title gives no count: “ScoopFree Litter Tray Refills with Premium Blue Crystals”. What the page does publish is a shipping weight of 1,225 g (43.2 oz) and dimensions of 559 × 368 × 51 mm (22 × 14.5 × 2.01 in). Fifty-one millimeters is one tray deep; three stacked trays cannot be 51 mm (2.01 in).
If it is a single tray, it is nearly twice the per-tray price of the three-pack on the same shelf. That is the first thing to check on the listing itself, because nothing else on this page comes close in importance.
It carries a different EAN from the three-pack — 0701002633554 against 0707005187070 — so they are genuinely different SKUs rather than the same item listed twice.
What the tray is for
“The reason you can leave ScoopFree self-cleaning litter boxes alone for weeks at a time.”
The ScoopFree system is crystal rather than clumping: urine evaporates through the crystals and solids dry out, and the whole tray — litter, waste and all — is thrown away rather than emptied. “Load it, Leave it, Lose it”, as PetSafe puts it.
That is genuinely hands-off, and it is also the most expensive way to own a litter box. This shelf publishes the way out: a reusable tray at ≈ $42 and crystal litter at ≈ $24 for two 2 kg (4.4 lb) bags, which together replace the disposable cycle permanently.
Two claims with numbers
- “Low tracking crystals… are 99 per cent dust free”
- “Plastic tray lining creates a powerful extra barrier to help protect against leaks”
Ninety-nine per cent is a figure, though the method is not given. The leak barrier matters because a disposable tray is carried full to the bin, and the lining is what stops that journey ending badly.
It fits the older box too
“Compatible with both the Original and Ultra ScoopFree.” The Ultra is published on this site. Consumables that span two generations are the exception on this shelf, not the rule.
What is not published
No tray count on the listing title, no crystal weight, no stated life in weeks, and no dust-measurement method. PetSafe says “replace the disposable tray every few weeks”, which is as precise as it gets.
