Comparing GPS tracker subscriptions

The hardware price is not the price. On most brands the plan overtakes the tracker inside the first year.

Add thirty-six months to every price

That single step reorders most comparisons in this category.

Check what the cheapest plan excludes

Live tracking interval, history length and family sharing are commonly tiered. A plan that halves the update rate is not the same product.

Prepaid terms are cheaper

Every brand discounts longer commitments. If you are confident about the tracker, that is where the saving is.

Then look at the hardware

Weight against the animal, battery life at the interval you will actually use, and whether the collar mount is a listed spare.

The questions owners ask

Are there trackers without a subscription?

Bluetooth tags, which are not trackers: they find a collar in the house, not an animal in a field. Anything with unlimited range carries a SIM, and a SIM carries a cost.

Does the plan work abroad?

Coverage and plan are different things. Check that your plan includes the country as well as the network — holidays are exactly when a dog runs, and a tracker outside its plan is a collar ornament.
