Cat Mate

The only feeders on this site that handle wet food

Cat Mate — part of the same group as Closer Pets, also reviewed here — makes timed feeders rather than hopper machines.

What we found writing the reviews

Wet food is the whole argument. Every other feeder on this site moves dry kibble through a rotor or an auger and will do nothing with a pouch. A great many cats are fed wet food, and for them the choice on this site is short.

Nothing can jam. There is no auger, no drum and no kibble path — a lid turns on a quartz timer. The failure modes that dominate the rest of this family simply do not exist here.

The limit is stated on the box. Two meals. That covers a long day and not a weekend, and no setting changes it. The five-meal Closer Pets machine is the answer for longer absences, and it is on this site too.
