That is the interval that makes an automatic box worth owning: at seven days you are still organising your week around it, and at fifteen you are not. In a multi-cat home the figure comes down accordingly, which is where the large drum earns its footprint.

Redkey lists clumping, bentonite, mineral and plant-based litters. That puts it among the more permissive boxes here — the PetPivot excludes plant litters entirely, and the PetSafe Ultra takes crystal only. If you have moved to a lighter plant litter for the weight of the bags, this is one of the boxes that follows you.
It is the pause between the cat leaving and the drum turning. A delay long enough to cover a cat that steps out and immediately steps back in is a safety feature, not a convenience one — and it is why boxes with an adjustable delay are worth more than the specification sheet suggests.
