Everything about an automatic litter box is a bet on the cat accepting it. This one is the cheapest way to place that bet across five European markets, and it is open-topped, which is the shape cats coming off a manual tray accept most readily. If the bet loses, you are out the price of a good manual setup rather than the price of a drum.
Three pairs of infrared sensors and four weight sensors, with what Thereye calls triple anti-pinch protection: weight detection, motor overload protection, and an infrared matrix. The cycle stops on movement and resumes only once the cat has left. The adjustable delay is the part to set deliberately — the six minutes Thereye recommends is more conservative than the two minutes some boxes here fix in firmware.
